I have an announcement, it is with regret that after the end of October the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog will close for good. Since this blog was started there has been a huge increase in the number of challenges out there and we appreciate that you can't participate in them all. With our particpant numbers dropping we now have more DT members than participants each week, and we took the difficult decision to call it a day.

The Design Team would like to thank you all for joining us when you could, and we hope to continue to see you participating in other challenges in Blog Land.

As Annie mentioned last week, both her and Lynn are taking a little break, so I (Caz) with the help of Andrea, am holding the fort until they both return to the fold. Yes Tilda and Friends is one year old! At times I wondered if we could keep it going for so long, but I'm glad we stuck with it and I hope our second year will see more Tilda and Friends fans joining in the fun with us. So to celebrate we have pressents! We have cute dragon stamps from High Hopes kindly donated by our very own Fran, and take a look at her ATC to see one of them. The first stamp will be given away once we have over 5 people joining in the fun, then when we have over 10 another stamp and if we get over 20 players the third stamp! Now should we get over 30 players I have a Magnolia stamp in reserve. Hi there everyone! Hasn't it been an exciting time with so many new stamps and crafty goodies being launched all over the place. The theme this week is to use shades of one main colour, in addition to hair and skin tones or natural backgrounds, after all brown skies and pink grass might look a bit strange! Welcome back to Tilda and Friends ATC blog and we have an announcement to make. We have decided to allow you to use all different kinds of craft on your ATCs for Tilda and Friends, as long as the overall effect remains cute. So you can now use downloaded images or printed decoupage as well as Magnolia and other cute stamps. Just a quick reminder that an ATC measures 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, and although lots of people swap them, we find they make great little toppers for our cards and other projects.

This week our theme is "New Stuff" - an ideal opportunity to play with your crafty presents and try out those new stamps, pens or papers! We have Anesha joining the Design Team throughout January and we will have another call for a February guest designer in a couple of weeks time. Brrrrr! it has turned very cold this last week in the UK, and Scotland has even had snow! So wrap up warm, or cosy up by the fire for this week's ATC theme of "Warm and Cosy". You could have your little cute faced folk all wrapped up warm in the outdoors or perhaps in front of the fire, and you don't even have to have a 'person' on your ATC at all. Time to Decorate

Well is it? When do you start to put up your Christmas decorations? This week we have a brand new stamp - "Tilda with Presents" to give away to one lucky entry - all we ask is that you make an ATC with the theme of Christmas decorations .. .. you could include a little tinsel or stamp a few baubles. This week you don't have to include a 'person' either, your ATC could just show a decorated tree or perhaps some Christmas candles .. .. it's up to you! This week we would like to see you turn your ATC into a gift tag. You could simply use the ATC as a topper on a tag, or make a single layer or opening tag to the size of an ATC, that's 2.5" x 3.5" or 64mm x 89mm. Soon we will be needing tags for Christmas gifts, but don't forget birthdays and other occasions when you need a tag.

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying the ATC challenges. This week I am offering an Alota stamp as a prize. I was lucky enough to be asked by Helene of Alota stamps to be on the Design Team in July. Of course I said yes straight away, how could anyone resist those cute stamps? I love working with them especially the cute bugs. If you get a chance do go and visit the website, there are tons of gorgeous stamps to choose from and won't cost you a fortune! Helene is a lovely lady and she is always willing to help. Although they come from the US, delivery time is always quick.

So onto this week's challenge......

I thought we could do something a little different this week. There is no set theme this week. Making your ATC is still the same, any cute "round faced" stamps, be it Magnolia, Cuddly Buddly, Hanglar, Alota, Spiral Whisper etc. But here's the difference.... I would like you to show your ATC as usual on your blog, leave us a link and then send it on to me, along with an SAE. I will then gather them all together and swap them and then send one back to you. That way you can see another ATC first hand and maybe gain some inspiration from your "new" ATC. Who knows it could be the start of your ATC collection?

So all you have to do is send your ATC to me with an SAE,(after you have shown it on your blog and left us a link). Don't forget to put your details on the back, your name , date, email etc. Your ATC should get to me by Wednesday 22nd October. This gives you 2 weeks to get your ATC off to me. I will then send them all out on Friday 24th October. And, the Design Team's ATCs will also be included in the swap. I'd love to get lots of people to take part and be able to enjoy seeing one another's ATCs first hand. If you would like to participate here is the address to send your ATC to:

"I haven't been blogging long but I've certainly thrown myself into it! I've clocked up around 300 posts and the majority of them are challenge pieces, I love a good challenge! My new beginning is going back to final year at uni and knowing that I'll be working full time this time next year earning my engineers licence that I've worked so hard for with all the coursework and exams. Perhaps your new beginning is having a baby, moving house, a new relationship, getting engaged or married, a new job, a child starting school or maybe it's your first ever blog challenge. Welcome Friends!

After discussing with Tilda and Friends we have decided to invite along some of the other characters you may have in your stamping box! We all love Tilda, but realise that sometimes it can be refreshing to use a different stamp now and then on our ATCs, so from now on please feel free to use other images that feature the cute round faces we have come to love. Suggestions would be the Scandinavian family of Hanglar and Stanglar that are soon to be available to us in the UK at Funky Kits or perhaps the Sugar Nellie Hamish and Maggie or Luca and Nellie. Or you could use one of the Cuddly Buddly people stamps (not the animals or bears though, unless that is the theme one week) or some of the cute people from Sprial Whisper, Precious Moments, or the Country Girls from Alota stamps. We do not want to see any Sarah Kay, Sweet Ebony or similar styles as although we love these images, they are more realistic in design and there are already several blogs featuring them. So please keep to the cute round faces and take your inspiration each week from the design team's creations.

Information for making ATCs is on the side bar and this week there is no set theme so please just have fun and make a cute ATC, then leave us a link so we can come and take a look. We are so pleased to have Andrea on the design team here with us, and as she is also a design team member for Magnolia Stamps, her ATC each week will feature a Magnolia image. The rest of the design team members will no doubt be showing you different stamped images from time to time and those that are on the design teams of different stamp manufacturers will be telling us a little about themselves, and the stamps they design with, in the coming weeks.

First of all, here's a little bit from Andrea:

Hi, I'm Andrea and those of you who know me , know that I am a bit of a Magnoliaholic and I am so lucky to be on the Magnolia DT. I love using Tildas and Edwins and all the accessories, they are just perfect for ATCs as well as cards. I find ATCs are ideal for making into quick cards and for using as toppers or for decorating little books etc.

I have made my ATC using the gorgeous new Cross Stitch Tilda and also a gatefold card using an identical ATC. I have a brand new Cross Stitch Tilda and some stamped images, ribbons and flowers to send to one randomly chosen winner so why not join in the fun and make some ATCs and remember you don't just have to use Magnolia images anymore, as Tilda would love to see some new friends. Well the holidays are all but over and soon it will be back to school, unless you are in Scotland and are already back at the desk! There is also a new theme to the ATCs coming in September too with another guest designer and more friends joining Tilda .. .. now I'm teasing you so come back next week and all will be revealed!

We had two lovely girls making ATCs for us with the buttons and beads themes, so, drum roll please - the winner of the Hawaiian Tilda stamp is Bryony, age 5, who is Jenny's daughter. Well done Bryony and if your Mum will email me your address I'll get the stamp to you. Our second winner is Georgia, Caz's daughter, who I had the pleasure of meeting recently when they were on holiday in Cornwall and I was able to pass on her prize of some stamped images and a little clear stamp set. Well done Georgia.

August Seasons Theme

We have our next Guest Designer joining us this week - so a warm welcome to Vanessa, and do go and check out her blog, Nessy's Notes. I was delighted she agreed to show us the Seasons ATCs that she made a little while ago, and as we are all in the midst of holidays and not able to craft every week, I thought it would be a fabulous theme for the next four weeks of August. That means you have 4 weeks to make 4 ATCs, one for Spring, one for Summer, one for Autumn and one for Winter. You can leave us a message at any time during the month so we can come and see your creations, but remember to include at least one Magnolia image on each ATC.

As we only had one under 16 entry for our Buttons challenge I decided to carry over the prize to include in the Beads challenge. This week we are happy to introduce you to Michelle who is our second Once a Month Guest Designer. A Midsummer Night's Dream

This week we have the first of our 'Once a Month Guest Designers' joining us and setting the challenge .. .. so a big hello to Jacqui who is our guest for June, and also a thank you to her for donating the Magnolia chair stamp for a prize this week.

Jacqui says:

"I've been blogging now for around 2 months and been inspired by so many wonderful blogs that I've visited during that time, so you can imagine my surprise and pleasure when I was asked to be a guest designer for Tilda & Friends, the first blog I visited! I was asked to come up with a theme for the challenge and with the longest day of the year almost upon us my inspiration comes from my favourite Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. I'm looking forward to seeing all your Midsummer creations."

Beside the Sea

We just had a holiday weekend here in the UK and we were very lucky in Cornwall to have a couple of sunny days before the rain set in! Everyone was headed to the beach, so this week the theme for our ATCs is Beside the Sea. The facts and figures for making ATCs are on the side bar, and as long as you include at least one Magnolia stamp you can join in the fun with us. We have a few changes to our Design Team this week, Marlene has stepped down to pursue other exciting projects and I hope you will join me in wishing her well. I'm leaving her name and link on the side bar so you can find her blog to check out what she is up to! And I am hoping that we will have some new DT members joining us in the next few weeks.

Birds of a Feather

Hello again! This week we have a gorgeous Magnolia stamp to give away to one lucky entry to our challenge along the theme of Birds of a Feather. All you have to do is create an ATC with at least one Magnolia stamped image on it, the facts and figures for ATCs are on the side bar. You can use a bird image, but if you don't have any then use feathers on your creation. Leave a link below so we can come and see your ATC and next week we will pick a name at random to win Tilda with Straws from the Magnolia Spring collection.

Bugs!

Thank you all for joining in with our May Celebrations last week, I hope you all had fun and a wonderful holiday weekend if you are here in the UK. This week's challenge is an easy one .. .. just show us your bugs! Now my garden is full of greenfly and caterpillars but I'll soon sort them out - instead the Design Team have come up with some stunning ATCs to inspire you with much prettier little bugs - butterflies, bees, dragonflies and ladybugs. As long as you have at least one Magnolia stamped image on your ATC you can join in the fun with us, so your bugs could be brads, stickers or paper embellishments if you don't have any of the Magnolia cuties you can see us using. Just leave a comment on this posting and we will come and check out your bugs!

May Celebrations!

Before I get to the chat about this week's challenge, I would just like to take a moment of your time to say that we really appreciate the efforts that everyone makes to join in with our challenges each week. However, our challenges are meant to be fun and for enjoyment, and never a competition. When we have stamps or images to give away we pick names at random, not because they have made the most elaborate or prettiest ATC. We are a group of friends who love Magnolia stamps and wanted to share that with you, and so, for this week's challenge I've chosen

MAY CELEBRATIONS!

Here in Cornwall we have lots of spring celebrations and in years gone by every village had it's May Queen and dancing around the Maypole in celebration of the brighter and warmer days and the blossoming of the fruit trees. So this week we would like to see your ATC creations with this theme and to give you some inspiration take a look at the Design Team's ATCs below and visit their blogs.
